At Mapplewell Primary School we recognise that by giving pupils roles and responsibilities we are increasing the sense of excitement, belonging, community, and interdependence. This academic year we have introduced many opportunities for pupils to take on new roles and responsibilities within the school; one of which is Lunchtime Supervisors.
Through providing pupils with the opportunity to take on this role we are promoting a sense of pride within our school environment, teamwork and a general positive attitude towards being helpful.
So far we have had many pupils thrive from this role, each day we have more and more sign up to future opportunities.
We provide our pupils with appropriate aprons to protect their clothing, this also allows others to easily identify which pupils are completing the role each day.
Main responsibilities for Lunchtime Supervisors are:
- keeping the hall tidy and clean for the next group of pupils to eat
- supporting younger pupils with daily routines
- being kind and helpful to all around
Below are some photographs of the pupils in their role.
