Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services, and Skills. It is the government organisation tasked with inspecting and regulating care for children and young people. This includes inspecting educational facilities for learners of any age.

Mapplewell Primary School last had a full Ofsted inspection, in October 2012, where we were graded as “Outstanding”.

Summary of Key Findings:

Pupils achieve outstandingly well at all stages as they move up through the school.

The school has highly effective procedures to support literacy, especially reading and writing.

Disabled pupils and those with special educational needs and those known to be eligible for the pupil premium also make outstanding progress because of the high quality support they receive.

By the time they leave school pupils are exceptionally well prepared for the next stage in education.

Pupils outstanding behaviour and positive attitudes make a strong contribution to their successful learning.

Leadership and management at all levels, including the governing body, are exceptionally successful at driving the school strongly forwards.

PARENT VIEW

Parent View is an online survey tool by Ofsted, that gives parents/carers the chance to tell us (and Ofsted) what you think about our school. Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching to dealing with poor behaviour. The information given is then used by Ofsted when making decisions about which schools to inspect and when.

The Governing body and Head Teacher encourage you to log onto the Parent View website (click on the icon, right) and complete the online survey.By sharing your views you will be helping us to further improve. We appreciate you taking the time to do this.
